To assure our ability to provide for the level of software support needs that each of our customers require, beginning January 1, 2007 all COMMANDbatch systems will need to be covered under an annual software support plan to receive free upgrades and technical support. As of January 1, 2007, COMMANDbatch systems not under a support plan will need to upgrade to the current release version, as well as to purchase an annual support plan in order to receive telephone support. Command Alkon is proactively making this move so that each of your COMMANDbatch systems can stay current and function as necessary as the Windows® software operating system platform evolves and as new features and enhancements are built into the COMMANDbatch software.
Basic software/telephone support plans start as low as $1300 annually for each system and increases depending upon the plan you purchase. A list of plans is available by contacting our Inside Sales Department at 1-800-624-1872. Getting a support plan before the January 1st
deadline allows you to avoid purchasing upgrades to the current version before obtaining software support. This means that if you purchase before the 1st, you will only have to pay for software support and receive future product upgrades at no additional cost. In some cases, this savings can be as much as $1800. Refer to the chart below for upgrade costs after January 1st.

Future ways to upgrade your system include an automatic update via the Internet, making upgrades as easy as clicking a button from the COMMANDbatch screen. The current version of COMMANDbatch is 1.05 which features our new ARA (Automated Remote Assistance) product. This product allows each COMMANDbatch system to create a secure connection to our servers via the Internet. Once connected, you can create support requests directly from your COMMANDbatch system. This same "tunnel" generated from the COMMANDbatch system will allow our technicians to connect back to your COMMANDbatch system for diagnostic support.
